Competencies
I pride myself on having the following competencies: communication, critical problem-solving, collaboration, and culture.
Competencies
Throughout my time studying Telecommunications at Texas A&M, I have developed many skills that can be applied to creating a brand. One of these skills is developing a brand for an organization. This previous year I curated a brand guide for the Texas A&M Office of Sustainability, as pictured above.
This is a page from the brand guide I developed for the Office of Sustainability on responding to concerns on social media.
Critical
Problem Solving

When working in public relations, it's not a question of if, but when you'll run into a pr crisis. The response you have to that issue is what will help maintain a positive brand image. As a communication student working on social media at the University, we ran into a few of these scenarios where we would have someone leave a negative comment or direct message. My response to these concerns was developing a brand guide statement that addressed how we would respond to situations on social media as a division of the University.
Collaboration
I worked with the Sustainability Operations Coordinator at Texas A&M to create a Marketing plan for Campus Sustainability Month (CSM). Developing the marketing plan involved coordinating with various offices, student orgs, and organizations on and off campus to book the location and groups attending CSM. The Marketing plan included how we would advertise the event to students, and part of the promotion was through the CSM Giveaway we held. The event was a success; we got over 2000 entries into our CSM Giveaway, the most in history.
Culture
This is an advertisement released by Dolce & Gabanna that I studied in one of my courses at Texas A&M that faced backlash for their disrespectful interpretation of Chinese culture.
Something I have learned as a communication student is that understanding different ethnic cultures is essential to avoid marketing mishaps when advertising to various groups. Suppose you dont have an understanding of different ethnic cultures, you may misrepresent or offend the specific group you were trying to advertise to, creating negative brand attention and overall dislike of a brand.
Communication
This is a video I created in my Comm 230 class that shows my mastery of this skill.
Throughout my time as a Telecommunication Media Studies Major, I have learned that when creating videos, it is essential to keep your audience interested through different filming techniques, such as quick cuts and point-of-view changes.
